IF: Rambunctious

Rambunctious: noisy and lacking in restraint, boisterous, disorderly.

This is the Christmas mailer I am still hoping to get out. We'll see if that happens. Warren (my hubby) suggested the sort of horror lighting on the aunt's face. I'd love a critique!

I recently got an Epson v500 for scanning, and I'm amazed that the scanner actually scans the textures of the paint (although you can't see it in this small size). Our old hp finally died on us.

Merry Christmas to you all!

Wow Shawna! Fantastic illustration! How do you paint like that - it's amazing! Do you use acyrilics? The new scanner sounds cool, bet they cost alot, huh?
Best Wishes,

Diddo was Buskitten said. Really excellent work and brilliant colors. Brings back memories of the relatives coming over. Especially the rambunctious ones.

great illustration! I hope you do get it out as a promotional piece (if that's what you meant by christmas mailer)!

Yikes! Wow, that's rambunctious all right, and not the good kind. Super duper painting! What fabulous expressions, and I think the horror shadow effect is perfect! (I can hear the Psycho violin strings now!)

Hello Shawna, I can just hear the aunt yelling, TA-DA! Her face lighting is perfect, drawing my attention to her first, which is just what she would want. I like her santa hat being partly outside lets me know where she came from. The design of the christmas trees on her sweater and the little girl connects them. Thank goodness the aunt is only staying for a short time, as noted by the small suitcase. The only question I asked myself is if the aunt is throwing candy and the cupcake thru the door, by the connection of their movement with the aunts raised hand. So many of us can probably relate to this family situation. Will be a great mailer for sure. Have a merry christmas ~pamela

I love the way the stripes bend around her ridiculously over-sized bust!

I would maybe recommend that the girl's lip protrude even more and her jaw drop lower. She looks pretty scared, but she could be even more horrified!

Hey Shawna.... great work! You can actually feel the aunt busting through the door. There's one in every family :)

Wow, Shawna it looks great. I love the colors and the ominous feeling. And agree that a horror lighting would do wonders for the mood.
